Incident affecting Cloud Messaging

Firebase Messaging is experiencing periods of errors on app registrations and delayed delivery of messages to disconnected devices. We have no measurable impact to connected devices, and affected registration requests would typically succeed on retry. We are working to resolve the issues but the service remains within our reliability goals.

Incident began at 2022-07-15 07:19 and ended at 2022-07-15 13:40 (all times are US/Pacific).

15 Jul 2022	13:45 PDT	Message delivery delay to devices disconnected at the time a message was sent is believed to be fully resolved as of 1:40pm US/Pacific time. There is no remaining known impact from the incident.
15 Jul 2022	13:29 PDT	We believe impact to device registrations is fully mitigated as of 12:50pm US/Pacific time. Delays in delivery of messages sent to a small percentage of devices not connected to a network at send time are improving, but not fully mitigated at this time. Delivery delay to connected devices remains nominal.
15 Jul 2022	12:30 PDT	Issue is impacting a small fraction of traffic (approximately 1% of registrations and 5% of messages to devices that were not connected to a network at the time the message was sent). Impact is limited largely to traffic originating in us-west and us-central; other locations are minimally affected. We are continuing to work to resolve the issue.
