The problem with Firebase App Hosting manual rollouts has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support.

We pushed a change this afternoon to mitigate the issue further. If automatic rollouts are disabled for the backend, our API will currently refuse to create a rollout (though will create builds) and will respond as such in the API call. We are working on proper fixes now and will have a better solution next week, but for now we hope for the failed create rollout calls to be a more obvious signal than the rollout starting and ending up in a failed state.

We believe this issue is due to a bug in the Automatic Rollouts setting. To mitigate this issue, please try enabling Automatic Rollouts in the Settings page (under Deployment) for affected Backends.

We continue to see reports of some rollouts failing and we're continuing to investigate.

We believe the issues we've seen have been mitigated. If you continue to see builds succeed but the rollout fail, please reach out to support so we can investigate.

We have rolled out a couple fixes we believe should mitigate some of the issues being seen. Engineers are continuing to investigate the service to validate these mitigations.

We are currently rolling out a change we think will mitigate this partially and are working on another change we will roll out later this week.

App Hosting engineers are aware of some issues where rollouts are failing for App Hosting after the build process has succeeded. We are investigating the root cause and are working towards a fix.
