Incident affecting Cloud Messaging

Issue with FCM topic messaging for iOS apps

The issue should be resolved. We will conduct an internal investigation of this issue and make appropriate improvements to our systems to prevent or minimize future recurrence.

We are currently validating a fix for the issue, but it might take a while to be completed. We will provide an update tomorrow with additional details.

We are still investigating the issue with FCM topic messaging for iOS. We will provide another status update as soon as we have more information.

We are experiencing an issue with FCM topic messaging for iOS apps beginning at Sunday, 2017-09-17 US/Pacific.

Current data indicates that for affected app instances:

  • Sending notifications to user segments in FN will fail.
  • Sending messages using topic conditions in the FCM API may fail.

This affects about 13% of iOS app instances registered with FCM in the last month. New iOS app registrations after 2017-10-20 should have no issues, but we are actively fixing existing app installs.

For everyone who is affected, we apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing. We will provide an update by tomorrow evening, 2017-10-25 US/Pacific with current details.
