Incident affecting Authentication

Service Disruption for Authentication

Incident began at 2017-10-15 08:00 and ended at 2017-11-10 10:00 (all times are US/Pacific).

	10 Nov 2017	10:08 PST	Recently we found that the downstream email service partner of Firebase Authentication made some change which caused more email delivery delay than expected. The partner has tuned the service and the email deferral rate is back to normal. To provide more technical background, almost all email providers (Gmail, YahooMail, Hotmail etc.) have build-in anti-spam mechanisms and continuously update the policy. When an email provider returns the standard 'Deferred' error code, the partner service would comply to the protocol and hold outgoing emails for sometime.
