Incident affecting Cloud Messaging

A small subset of registrations cannot receive topic messaging

Incident began at 2024-10-03 00:00 and ended at 2024-11-25 23:00 (all times are US/Pacific).

As of 11/25, our fix has rolled out to 100% of the affected registrations. Topic fanouts to affected registrations should now be succeeding.

Following our previous message regarding the issue affecting topic message delivery for some registrations, we want to provide an update on our progress.

We have successfully fixed the issue for 50% of the affected registrations. We are continuously working to fix the remaining registrations and are now anticipating full recovery by Wednesday, November 27th.

We have identified an issue affecting a small subset (about 1%) of registrations. This issue prevents the affected registrations from receiving topic messages. Registrations created before Oct 3, 2024 or after Nov 8th, 2024 are unaffected. And messages addressed to single registrations are unaffected. We have developed a fix for this issue and are conducting validation tests before deploying it. We are aiming for full recovery by next Friday, Nov 22, 2024.
